MSO: uk-rdg1 network outage

We are investigating a major network outage of uk-rdg1. Approximately 50% of traffic to this location is affected.

  • Work is still ongoing to recover and replace core infrastructure at this location, allowing us to attain higher redundancy and resilience. No customer impact is expected as a result of this work.

  • This incident was caused by a critical hardware failure in one rack. We have replaced the failed hardware, however approximately 10% of virtual servers in this particular rack have required restoration from backups. If your server or service is still offline at this time, please raise a support ticket as soon as possible.

    UK - Reading network upgrade

    We are performing an upgrade to a new 100G core network in our uk-rdg1 location. This upgrade will start on 2020-08-17 at 22:00 UTC, and will take approximately 6 hours. Service will be at risk during this window, but we do not expect any interruption beyond some 30 second re-routing blips.

    We are investigating an outage of UK14 node located in London. All servers on this node are currently unreachable.

  • The node is back online but we have uncovered a hardware problem. We will be migrating this node to different hardware in the forthcoming days.

  • The technician has arrived on site and is investigating.
